About this role
Do you thrive in defining technical strategies for new services where the problem space is still being written? Are you energized by the challenge of setting adoption strategy for technology that reimagines how AI agents consume governed context at runtime? Are you ready to become the recognized authority for a service that will shape the future of agentic AI? We are seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to lead the technical adoption strategy for AWS Context, the organization-wide knowledge graph and agentic context layer for AI agents. This is a formative role where you will define how customers across a segment or territory understand, evaluate, and adopt AWS Context. You will guide customers through AWS Glue Data Catalog building blocks, frame complex agentic use cases across their data estates, and work directly with product teams to shape the service roadmap. Your work will set the technical direction that the entire team executes against, establish mechanisms and reference architectures that raise the bar org-wide, and build the external thought leadership that defines how the market understands agentic context. You will convert the most complex early evaluations into committed adoption, mentor senior Solutions Architects, and create sustained influence well beyond individual customer interactions. Key job responsibilities - Set the technical adoption strategy for AWS Context, determining which use cases, industries, and customers to prioritize and orchestrating the evaluation motion other Solutions Architects execute - Lead the highest-stakes customer engagements personally, framing undefined problem spaces with customer architects and executives, designing agentic solutions that leverage governed context across AWS Glue Data Catalog, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Simple Storage Service, Apache Iceberg, Amazon Athena, Amazon Bedrock knowledge bases, and Lake Formation - Establish reusable mechanisms, reference architectures, and standards that raise the bar for the team org-wide, codifying what works from field experience into artifacts that accelerate future engagements and ensure consistency - Influence the AWS Context service roadmap as a strategic partner to product and engineering teams, synthesizing field learnings into succinct business and technical requirements and contributing to early product formation - Build external technical thought leadership through content creation and speaking engagements that position AWS Context in the market, mentor and develop senior Solutions Architects, and contribute to hiring strategy A day in the life A typical day blends strategic direction-setting with hands-on technical leadership on the most complex work. You might refine the adoption strategy for your segment in the morning, prioritizing which agentic use cases and customers to focus on. Then you lead a design session with customer architects and executives, framing how governed context and semantic layers improve agent reasoning across their data estate. Between engagements, you resolve escalated governance and security objections, establish reusable reference architectures for the team, and synthesize field patterns for the service team. You mentor senior Solutions Architects on complex evaluations and prepare external technical content that shapes how the market understands agentic context.
About the team
The customer-facing specialist Solutions Architecture team is the technical engine behind AWS Context adoption. Because the service is evolving toward general availability, we meet customers building agentic applications where they are today: guiding them through the AWS Glue Data Catalog and Amazon Bedrock knowledge bases building blocks available today, proving value against real agent use cases, and capturing the customer interest and requirements that shape the service roadmap. The team owns the evaluation motion across collaborative design sessions, tailored demonstrations, hands-on proofs of concept, and
