Standard Job Description Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance. Basic Qualifications • Ability to perform hands-on mechanical assembly and basic electrical assembly. • Ability to follow written procedures and drawings. • Able and willing to work shift and weekend work as needed. • Basic knowledge of test equipment (DMM, O-scope, etc). • Must be US citizen, will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for a Top Secret security clearance. Desired Skills • Current Secret or Top Secret clearance. • Ability to maintain data and activity logs. • Prior high vacuum experience. • Prior experience with cryogenics. • Exhibit basic math and computer skills. • Prior experience with handling pressurized gases. • Prior data acquisition system experience. • Prior experience of overhead crane operations, lifting and handling. • Hands-on electronics assembly and/or troubleshooting electrical systems.
