As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service. Customer Engineer (Trilingual: Chinese, English & Korean) Location: Wuxi / Dalian, China Join the Applied Materials China Field Service team and embark on an international career journey. Applied Materials provides a comprehensive technical training program and mentoring system, as well as opportunities for high-potential talent to participate in the Global Customer Service Talent Development Program, including a one-year field assignment in South Korea. During this period, you will work closely with both China- and Korea-based teams, actively participating in equipment installation, maintenance, and customer support activities. This experience will allow you to gain valuable international project exposure, strengthen cross-cultural collaboration skills, and develop professional service expertise, laying a solid foundation for becoming a global technical service professional.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Installation and Technical Support Assist senior engineers with semiconductor equipment installation, commissioning, and acceptance processes. Provide customers with preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) support. Support equipment upgrade, retrofit, and performance optimization projects. Ensure stable equipment operation and meet customer production requirements. Project Execution and Customer Support Participate in on-site project execution for SK hynix customers. Collaborate with cross-regional teams in China and South Korea to support project delivery. Learn and participate in project management (PM) and site operations management activities. Build strong customer relationships and contribute to customer success. Continuous Learning and Safety Management Complete company-provided technical training, safety training, and certification programs. Continuously enhance knowledge of equipment, processes, and customer applications. Strictly comply with company and customer site requirements related to safety, environmental protection, and quality standards.
