Location: Beloit, Wisconsin Pay Rate: $22.50/hour Shift: 3rd Shift Hours: Generally starts as early as 10:45 PM to 7:00 AM. Overtime required as needed based on business demands. Start times and hours may vary due to attendance coverage, production schedules, and holiday requirements. Good attendance and punctuality are essential. HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE… As a Packaging Machine Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of packaging equipment that delivers high-quality snack products to our customers. You will help drive production excellence by operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing packaging machinery while upholding the highest standards for food safety, quality, and workplace safety. WHAT YOU WILL DO… Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot packaging machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. Read and interpret production schedules, including schedules within MicroStrategy, and plan machine operation accordingly. Print and manage labels using multiple printer systems and perform routine printer cleaning and adjustments. Monitor codes, dates, pricing information, and package integrity to ensure product compliance and accuracy. Perform nitrogen testing, metal detector verification, batch order verification, and other required quality checks. Maintain an adequate supply of packaging materials, including roll stock and related consumables. Set up packaging equipment, perform machine changeovers, and create or modify machine programs as required. Write, edit, and maintain machine logic and code date configurations to support efficient and low-waste production. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs, adjustments, and equipment setup activities. Calibrate scales, adjust scale linkages, modify formers, and ensure weighing systems are functioning properly. Operate supporting packaging equipment, including case sealers, robotic cells, and related automated systems. Monitor machine performance to ensure standard operating speeds, proper film cutoffs, and acceptable package seals. Monitor product appearance and adhere to established weight control standards. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve packaged product quality issues. Properly account for product run-off and rework recoverable product according to established procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment by cleaning machines and production areas as required. Report maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, safety issues, and quality concerns promptly. Follow all food safety, sanitation, safety, and housekeeping procedures. Safely store materials and maintain clear aisles, exits, and workspaces. Follow proper lifting, carrying, and material-handling procedures. Provide guidance and direction to Packagers when needed. Serve as a backup Packaging Coordinator or other skilled production role when qualified. Support seasoning operations when assigned by monitoring and replenishing overhead seasoning systems. Work mandatory overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
