WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM The Human Resources (HR) Specialist partners with the Bay Area Manager and Senior Manager to provide comprehensive HR support for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley Office’s and actively collaborates with the broader West Coast Human Resources team. The HR Specialist acts as the primary liaison for our our Associate Consulting Classes and our Summer Intern Program. This includes, partnering our Local Staffing team to manage employee lifecycle, and performance management. Successful implementation of various programs requires strong program management skills, thorough knowledge of policies and procedures, and effective communication with individual employees and Local, Regional and Global administrative teams. In addition to cohort responsibilities, the HR Specialist will continue to run administrative efforts acting as the Global Mobility liaison, and providing onsite support to local team. Please note: Bain’s offices are operating on a hybrid model. It will be expected during onboarding and training this individual will be in office four days a week. Once trained, determined by the supervisor, the expectation will for our Human Resources team to be in office a minimum of three days a week. This role is initially being hired as a temporary position, with the possibility of conversion into a permanent full-time position within the company. WHAT YOU’LL DO Associate Consulting Cohort: Act as an HR Business Partner to Program Manager responsible for Associate Consultant general consulting cohorts Oversee all HR Programs and activities for cohorts. Includes onboarding, compensation, employee relations, leaves of absence, transfers, performance management, bonus payments, departure, exit interviews, et. Partner with Program Managers for cohorts to help coordinate ratings process and promotion committees for cohorts ensuring all policies followed. Attend all TAC (performance management) meetings for cohorts Manage performance management process for employees in cohort; ensure correct language is included in performance reviews, meet with employees to explain policies/options; ensure all reviews are triggered, submitted and delivered on time throughout the process Escalate all employee complaints to Senior Manager. Partner, when appropriate, with Senior Manager to provide HR advice on tricky situations and investigating routine employee relations complaints. Act as an ombudsman and “eyes and ears” of employees in cohort working closely with Program Management to identify trends and help build strategy to increase cohort retention and satisfaction Attend class meetings for cohort to understand cohort perspectives, answer questions, et. Use data sources (CTSU, WWES, Pulse Checks, et) to stay on top of how cohort morale is and provide thought leadership to Program Management on program overall Work with Regional HR Operations team to ensure accurate and timely administration of core HR systems and other activities that the HR Operations team supports as it pertains to cohorts Work closely with Global Compensation, Mobility & Immigration and Benefits teams to ensure accurate and timely activities where these groups intersect with cohorts Summer Intern Cohort: Work closely with Program Management
