DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an experienced Staff Scientist – MS Reagents / Proteomics to serve as a scientific leader and technical expert within our R&D organization. This role will lead and contribute to the development of innovative reagents, assays, kits, and workflows for mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics. The successful candidate will apply expertise in protein biochemistry, MS sample preparation, quantitative proteomics, LC-MS method development, automation, and data processing to advance new products and technologies. You will independently initiate and lead research, evaluate emerging technologies, solve complex technical challenges, and help translate scientific concepts into robust and scalable products. Working across R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, Technical Service, commercial teams, customers, and collaborators, you will contribute to scientific strategy, product development, technology transfer, and technical decision-making. You will also mentor colleagues and communicate scientific work through technical presentations, publications, conferences, and intellectual property.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to R&D projects developing reagents, assays, kits, and workflows for MS-based proteomics. Design, develop, and optimize MS sample preparation, quantitative proteomics, and LC-MS workflows and methods. Independently plan and execute experiments, analyze data, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and provide recommendations. Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for new products, workflows, and technology advancement. Partner with R&D leadership and Product Management on scientific direction and technical/business cases for new products and programs. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Technical Service, commercial teams, customers, and external partners to support product development, technology transfer, and implementation. Develop technical methods, documentation, reports, and scientific communications supporting new and existing products. Lead cross-functional projects and provide technical guidance and mentorship to colleagues. Present scientific work at conferences, customer meetings, and technical forums and contribute to publications, patents, and invention disclosures.

Qualifications

Ph.D. with 2+ years , M.S. with 6 + years , or B.S. with 8 + years of relevant experience in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, proteomics, mass spectrometry, or a related field. Strong experience in protein biochemistry, MS sample preparation, quantitative proteomics, and LC-MS method development and data processing. Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute experiments and solve complex scientific and technical problems. Experience leading scientific projects and working effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, organizational, technical writing, and communication skills.
