iOS Engineer

We are seeking a Mid-level iOS Engineer to drive the evolution of our payment features within the Payments segment as part of the Localites team.

The Payments Team does the heavy lifting behind money movement—powering seamless transactions across regional and global networks. In the Localities team, you will focus on products tailored to local European markets (such as local payment integrations in the Netherlands, Spain, and beyond). A primary focus of this role will be driving our integration with Wero, building high-performance mobile payment experiences for both individual users and e-commerce checkouts.

This is a hybrid role from one of our Barcelona or Berlin offices.

• Develop and scale core payment features within the N26 iOS app using modern Swift.

• Write clean, testable, and highly maintainable code, following modular architecture principles and modern iOS design patterns.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Backend Engineers to take features from inception to production.

• Drive engineering excellence across the mobile community through active code reviews, tech talks, and contributions to shared core libraries.

• Ensure app performance, security, and reliability, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks in critical payment pathways.

What you need to be successful

• Proven professional iOS development experience, ideally within consumer-facing, security-sensitive applications at a fast-paced product company or fintech disruptor.

• Formal background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical, hands-on experience.

• Strong Swift & iOS SDK expertise, with a deep understanding of core concepts like concurrency, memory management, and local data persistence.

• Architectural awareness: Experience working with modern architecture patterns (MVVM, VIPER, or Modular Architecture) in large-scale codebases.

• Quality-first mindset: Hands-on experience writing robust unit and integration tests for critical app workflows.
