Collins Aerospace is looking for an MRO Repair Design Engineer to fill a high-impact role focused on delivering repair and overhaul solutions for many of the world’s largest airlines and aviation customers. In this role, the Repair Design Engineer will drive quality, supply chain, and manufacturing activities to design and approve innovative repairs for aircraft components of metallic and advanced composite construction. The Repair Engineer will engage with shop maintenance to not only troubleshoot and accomplish repairs, but also develop innovative repair techniques that drive down costs and deliver Best-In-Class solutions for our customers. This position will be on site in Foley, AL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxoXhE56QDY What You Will Do Apply knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing techniques to the design and substantiation of repairs and or fabrication of repair parts for aircraft components. Communicate frequently with internal and external customers, mechanics, and leaders to drive status updates, progress, changes, etc. Resolve design problems of difficult, sometimes complex scope independently which have significant impact to business. Provide proactive technical support to production groups to meet or exceed external and internal customer requirements. Develop digital designs for metallic and composite component parts and assemblies for application in aircraft/aerospace products using modeling tools for design. Develop processes to accomplish the various procedures in the repair and restoration of components. Support Quality Assurance personnel and Mechanics to facilitate compliance with policy, procedures, and regulations. Collaborate effectively with a cross functional team and coordinates with external customers. Creates and improves standard work and utilize lean principles to continuously improve engineering and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Qualifications
We Prefer Experience in AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, or any other 3D modeling software Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bill of materials, technical documents, etc. Substantial knowledge of aircraft materials and fabrication/shop processes Strong
