BOBST HELPER $16-$19/HR M-F 5a-130p currently 5a-330p The Opportunity: The Production -Bobst 1st Helper prepares slotter, feed section, and die cutters. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies. Set-up slotter and feed sections on Press Set-up die cut and feed sections on die cutters Ensure all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured Check Anilox rolls for damage Assist in making accurate set-ups Monitor board quality, including -- loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper, and any other defects Report board quality problems to the operator and sort as necessary to keep the machine running Assist operator in other duties Work at pace set by the machine operator Be willing to cross-train on other machines as necessary Be willing to move up the line of progression to operator regardless of shift Assist in keeping area clean and organized, this includes keeping sheets off of floor Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs Perform each task in a manner which prevents bodily injury, product, and equipment damage Use proper lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending techniques Observe all safety and health guidelines May be assigned to other projects and duties What you need to succeed: High school diploma or GED Prior work in the corrugated industry, preferred 6 months of experience in the Press or Finishing Department, preferred Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations. Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
