Position Summary
The Security Supervisor provides on-shift leadership for all security and safety operations at the Utah Valley Convention Center. This position is responsible for scheduling and supervising security staff, overseeing all shipping and receiving activity within the facility, and ensuring a safe environment for guests, staff, vendors, and clients. The Security Supervisor maintains and enforces security policies and procedures, coordinates the flow of information between the Security Manager, Event Managers, and the Operations Manager, and serves as the primary on-site contact for security matters during assigned shifts. This role requires strong situational awareness, leadership ability, and the capability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced public environment. Candidates must also demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively schedule and manage staff across a variety of events. This role will pay an hourly rate between $18.00 - $20.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until November 20, 2026.
About the Venue
Located in historic downtown Provo, Utah, the Utah Valley Convention Center opened its doors in 2012 as the premiere meeting space in Utah County. The UVCC boasts the perfect blend of modern architecture, flexible meeting space, and breathtaking interior and exterior views of the nearby Wasatch Mountains. This combined with its functional floor plan makes it the perfect venue to host any event.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate security staff during assigned shifts and events; serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all security matters. Conduct pre-shift briefings, assign posts, and communicate event details and expectations to security personnel. Assist in coordinating the flow of information from the Security Manager to security staff. Prepare and distribute work schedules; review event resumes to build appropriate staffing plans for upcoming events. As well as post-shift reports to ensure accuracy. Maintain files of sign-in sheets for events and ensure all security logs are completed, including time, radio, and key logs and access records. Assist with training new security staff on venue policies, procedures, and proper guest interaction. Monitor staff performance and provide coaching to maintain professional and service standards. Supervise all shipping and receiving items moving throughout the facility; log all items entering and leaving the building.
