This position works out of our Plymouth, MN, location in the Structural Heart business. Main Purpose of Role This position provides technical support by performing any combination of routine or occasional non-routine duties involving the selection and use of standard procedures and / or equipment in support of medical diagnostic instrument and / or reagent development and production; by monitoring, assessing, testing and recalibrating machinery, equipment and processes. Performs “set-up,” tests, repair, inspection, calibration and / or corrective and preventive maintenance of all equipment in different areas (Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality, etc.) materials, systems and / or products. Knowledge of injection molding and tooling maintenance. Ability to inspect, clean and repair molding and tooling used in injection molding Basic skills in computer hardware and /or software applications such as spreadsheet creation. Troubleshoots and make necessary repairs to equipment using problem solving methods as root cause analysis. Follows established procedures. Reads, interprets, and may instruct others in the use of all manuals, test Reads and interprets engineering drawings, schematics and complex test procedures. Working knowledge and use of complex tools and equipment specific to functional areas. Performs and documents all mechanical and or electrical troubleshooting of product as required following all applicable Abbott procedures. May use statistical, mathematical and other quantitative and qualitative methods and measurements. Conducts failure analysis to component level, complex testing, analysis and troubleshooting; and recommends changes for process improvement. May conduct basic experimental design in functional areas; and analyze new products or new applications of existing products.
