Our Opportunity: Chewy Vet Care is currently recruiting a Human Resources Business Partner (CCVC) with retail, veterinary care, and/or multi-site experience to support our veterinary practice operation. The HRBP (CCVC) reporting to the AD, Regional HRBP, will drive team member engagement, leadership development, and performance management for our virtual care teams across both Chewy Connected Virtual Care and Modern Animal as we build our future omnichannel experience. This person will be responsible for setting high standards and goals for the organization to improve engagement, retention and create a culture that team members want to be part of. The HRBP serves as a consultant to the leadership team on human resource-related issues, acts as a team member champion and change agent, and formulates partnership across the HR function to deliver value-added service to leaders and team members that reflect the business objectives of the organization.
What You'll Do
In this role you will provide primary strategic human resources support to the Chewy Connected Virtual Care and Modern Animal team. Collaborate with the CVC HRBP team to develop and implement HR strategies that support the business goals as we build a connected veterinary care experience for our customers. Act as a strategic partner to the Chewy Connected Virtual Care (CCVC) team, providing HR guidance and input on people metrics, workforce (labor) planning, and succession planning. You will engage the business leaders to understand talent needs of the business and define people strategies for our growing Telemedicine and integration with newly acquired Modern Animal. Partner with the TA team to ensure we build a strong pipeline of qualified candidates; support the interview process for our virtual care teams. Demonstrate desire and ability to be an influential and credible HRBP within the operations team, including supporting the virtual team with workforce (labor) planning, building strong VOTM (Voice of the Team Member) routines focusing on team member engagement and retention metrics. Support communications regarding upcoming changes, policy notifications, and site-specific initiatives through direct collaboration with the operations team. Participates in employee relations matters, facilitates open employee communications, and assists in the investigation of employee complaints or concerns. Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks. Assists in talent review decisions, succession planning meetings and supports the operations team driving results of established goals or KPI’s. Complies with all federal and state regulations and government reporting requirements concerning employment including any related to the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Be eager and willing to support and adapt to the local shifts in our practices and a significant staffing ramp while we are launching this new business line. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that could include nights, weekends, and/or holidays as we serve our pet parents. Partner with the business to drive consistent, repeatable strategies for new business launches and integrations. Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management. Be expected to travel up to 25%. What You’ll Need: Bachelor's degree from accredited university Excellent verbal / written communication, observational, and analytical skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 5+ years of progressive HRBP experience in a fast-paced environment. Proved ability to influence and drive change
