Job Description
AECOM’s Urbanism + Planning team is seeking a visionary and dynamic Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Project Manager for our Orlando, FL and South Florida Studio. The primary responsibilities are to lead pursuit of a range of high-profile projects and assist with growing AECOM’s award winning urbanism practice in Central Florida with the goal of advancing design excellence, thought leadership, project delivery, and staff mentoring. We are seeking an individual who is an industry-recognized leader with a strong set of client relationships and portfolio of work. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in project management fundamentals that include client management, financial oversight, quality control, project delivery, and effectively conveying innovative design thinking and solutions. This is a Hybrid role and requires at least 3 days a week in the office. In collaboration with the Studio and Regional Leadership, the Landscape Architecture Project Manager will: Build client relationships, pre-position for opportunities, and contribute to a portfolio of work that aligns with growth objectives. Serve as Project Manager on a range of assignments for both public and private sector clients and become an AECOM certified project manager within 6 mos. of hire date. Work with staff to lead and deliver projects from inception through to construction while advocating for design excellence and constructability. Contribute to AECOM’s “think and act globally” philosophy by creating a culture of innovation and collaboration. Proactively focus on team building, and mentor on junior staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: BA/BS in Landscape Architecture + 6 years of related site design and urban design experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including 2 yrs of project management experience. Licensed Landscape Architect (FL). Experience managing landscape architecture and urban design or planning projects. U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review. U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in landscape architecture. Experience practicing landscape architecture and or urban design for complex and innovative design projects in Florida for municipal, county, or state clients, as well as institutional, higher ed and transportation entities. Experience and skills in client interviews and relationship building, writing proposals and driving sales and revenue.
