AECOM is looking for a Principal Pavements Engineer to join our Melbourne team and play a leading role in delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia. This is an opportunity to bring your technical expertise, industry experience and leadership to complex pavement challenges across aviation, ports and transport. You'll work alongside some of Australia's leading specialists, influence major project outcomes, build trusted client relationships and help grow AECOM's Pavements capability across Australia and New Zealand. You'll have the platform to combine deep technical expertise with client leadership, project delivery and business growth — while helping develop the next generation of pavement engineers. How you'll make a difference Lead the pavement design and engineering of complex, high-profile aviation, ports and transport projects. Provide technical direction across pavement design, rehabilitation, materials, investigation and construction methodologies. Review and approve pavement designs, calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation. Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, innovative and technically robust engineering solutions. Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, bringing specialist pavement expertise to complex project challenges. Interpret pavement investigation and testing data, including FWD, HWD, GPR, LWD, profiler and surface friction testing, and translate it into sound engineering decisions. Build and strengthen senior client relationships, identify opportunities and contribute to winning major projects. Mentor and develop engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping build the next generation of pavement specialists. Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of AECOM's Pavements practice across Australia and New Zealand. Champion technical excellence, innovation and knowledge sharing across the wider business. Why this role This is more than a senior technical role.
