Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.Google Ads is at the forefront of AI innovation, applying cutting-edge machine learning and Generative AI models like Gemini to power a multi-billion dollar global business. Operate at the cutting edge of this defense, build innovative solutions that protect the Ads ecosystem from ever-changing attacks by decoding adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs). Protect billions of users, offering ample opportunities for growth and collaborate with cross-functional and cross-product teams like Ads Quality, Trust and Safety, GBO, YouTube, and Google Play.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related security field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in security engineering, threat intelligence, trust and safety, or a related abuse-fighting field. Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Java. Experience working with data analysis, SQL, and investigating datasets to uncover patterns or anomalies. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field. Experience working with machine learning models and applying ML techniques to classification or anomaly detection problems. Experience leading cross-functional investigations, attributing threat campaigns, or discovering novel systemic vulnerabilities. Understanding of adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), with experience mapping behaviors to intelligence frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK, STIX, Diamond Model). Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and partner teams.
