Your Opportunity The Social Media Manager will lead the social media strategy and execution for BDO Canada's People & Digital Solutions (PDS) consumer business. This replacement role is responsible for elevating the PDS brand, amplifying thought leadership, increasing audience engagement, and supporting consumer awareness, consideration, engagement, and demand through strategic social media initiatives. Working closely with PDS Marketing, business leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners, the Social Media Manager will develop and execute content strategies that strengthen PDS's consumer presence across social platforms, with a primary focus on LinkedIn. The successful candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on executor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for storytelling, analytics, and digital engagement. Social Media Strategy & Planning Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with PDS consumer growth objectives and marketing priorities. Build and manage annual and quarterly social media plans that support thought leadership, campaigns, events, consumer services, offers, and growth initiatives. Identify opportunities to increase brand visibility, consumer engagement, consideration, and market awareness across priority channels. Monitor industry trends, platform updates, consumer behaviour, cultural trends, and competitive activity to inform strategy and recommendations. Content Development & Channel Management Manage the PDS social media editorial calendar, publishing schedule, and day-to-day channel activity. Create, curate, and optimize compelling content, including thought leadership, videos, articles, consumer stories, educational content, service promotions, event content, and campaign assets. Partner with subject matter experts, service leaders, and consumer marketing partners to translate complex topics into clear, relatable, and consumer-relevant social content. Ensure brand consistency, messaging alignment, quality, and adherence to firm standards across all social activity. Develop platform-native, mobile-first content tailored to consumer needs across the customer journey, from awareness and education through consideration and conversion. Thought Leadership & Employee Advocacy Support PDS leaders in strengthening their social presence and thought leadership profiles. Develop social activation plans for priority campaigns, research, webinars, events, and strategic initiatives. Create scalable employee advocacy programs, tools, and guidance that encourage employees to engage with and share PDS content. Collaborate with leadership to increase the visibility of PDS expertise, consumer stories, and practical market insights. Community Management & Social Engagement Monitor social channels and actively manage audience engagement in a timely and professional manner. Respond to comments, questions, and conversations, following appropriate review and escalation processes where required. Identify opportunities to participate in relevant industry conversations and build stronger relationships with consumer audiences. Monitor brand sentiment and emerging issues, escalating risks as appropriate. Analytics & Performance Optimization Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness of social media activity. Analyze channel, content, campaign, and audience performance to identify insights and optimization opportunities.
