Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated candidate to serve as the Chief Engineer for the Miniature Air-Launched Decoy (MALD) Program. In this role, you will support all aspects of in‑service sustainment, ongoing program execution, and potential new production contracts. You will partner with the Program Manager to coordinate and manage efforts across the IPTs while interfacing with factories, functional organizations, and both national and international customers. As the technical executive for the program, you will provide clear tactical direction, maintain execution cadence, and ensure all technical and contractual deliverables are successfully met. This position is 100% onsite in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do
Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the IPT and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Primary technical point of contact with senior customer counterparts, internal senior program management and engineering leadership. Influence and align internal and external customers on the technical capabilities, technical risks and common architecture needs. Support the capture of new business and influence technical and product line roadmaps, ensuring they are reflected in program planning and execution. Plan out and lead the incremental break-in of upgrades and system improvements. Drive positive change within the production environment as a key stakeholder in Failure Review Boards, FRACAS activities and other continuous improvement efforts. Technically engage with major subcontractors and partners to ensure product deliverables. Direct a team of multi-disciplined engineers in support of product development and production. Provide technical advisory disposition for Export / Import (EXIM) compliance.
Qualifications
You Must Have Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience with system development and design, requirements development, management, verification, system integration and test, and production. Experience working on modular systems architectures and product lines. Experience as a technical leader who can develop work plans and drive execution. Experience leading engineering teams. Experience managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets. Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
