What will you be doing? As a Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary within our Actuarial Risk and Capital team, you'll play a key role in helping Unum understand, manage and optimise its capital position. You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, analysing experience, supporting capital modelling and helping shape the assumptions that underpin key business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for an actuary looking to broaden their expertise, take ownership of meaningful work and develop their career within a supportive and collaborative team environment. You'll: ○ Analyse demographic and economic experience to support robust actuarial decision making and business insight. ○ Use actuarial judgement to help set assumptions used within capital and risk management activities. ○ Support the calibration of capital stresses within Unum's Internal Model framework. ○ Produce high-quality reporting and analysis on experience investigations, assumptions and capital outcomes. ○ Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of risk and capital methodologies, processes and controls. ○ Support a range of change initiatives, strategic projects and capital-related developments across the business. ○ Collaborate with colleagues across Finance, Risk and the wider organisation to deliver actuarial insight and business value. ○ Present complex actuarial findings in a clear and accessible way to a variety of stakeholders, including senior management. ○ Provide guidance, coaching and support to actuarial students, helping contribute to the development of future talent within the team. ○ Continuously challenge existing approaches and identify opportunities to improve methodologies, efficiency and effectiveness. What will you bring? What will you bring? We're looking for a collaborative and commercially minded actuary who enjoys solving complex problems, challenging assumptions and delivering high-quality work.
