Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Inspector Machined Parts 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in El Segundo, CA . The selected candidate will be assigned to and work a shift to perform inspection(s) of parts and assemblies in aerospace manufacturing environment utilizing various inspection tools and computerized manufacturing execution system. Essential Functions: Log into Manufacturing Execution System to determine jobs awaiting inspection on callboard Read & Understand engineering requirements Locate and identify appropriate parts/assemblies to be inspected Utilizing appropriate inspection gauges, perform part/assembly inspection & record results The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable in noisy environments and be able to collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, liaison engineers, integration/test engineers and production technicians. Perform detailed quality inspections of F-35 machined parts to ensure hardware meets engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements while supporting production schedule and preventing defects.

Key Responsibilities

Perform dimensional and visual inspections of machined F-35 hardware. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and inspection requirements. Verify product conformity using approved inspection methods and equipment. Identify, document, and communicate defects and nonconformances. Support production by providing timely and accurate inspection results. Ensure inspection documentation and records are complete and accurate. Escalate quality concerns that may impact safety, quality, or schedule.  Support root cause and corrective action activities. Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met. Machined Parts Focus: Precision dimensional inspection Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation Blueprint reading CMM/advanced measurement equipment First article and in-process inspection Final inspection Surface finish and visual requirements Nonconformance identification Defect prevention Candidate Requirements Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and 4 years' experience with Aerospace or precision manufacturing inspection experience, hardware or related background as a technician Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance Strong blueprint and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge. Experience inspecting machine parts. Ability to use precision measurement equipment. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and make sound quality decisions. Strong communication and documentation skills. This position will primarily work 2nd shift but must be willing to work any shift, overtime or non-standard work schedule. Preferred: F-35 or military aerospace experience. CMM
