Job Title: Technician E Job Code: 43545 Job Location: Salt Lack City, Utah Job Schedule: 2 nd Shift Job Description: The Inspection Technician E performs advanced inspections of materials, equipment, electromechanical assemblies, and panel/module-level assemblies in support of new production. This position evaluates product conformance through interpretation of drawings, specifications, diagrams, and related documentation, and makes acceptance or rejection determinations for in-process and final assemblies. In addition to inspection responsibilities, this role applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex product conformance issues, support quality planning activities, improve inspection methods, and drive process and product quality improvements. Technician E serves as a technical resource within the work area, provides guidance to inspectors, and lower-level technicians, supports cross-functional investigations, and contributes to the development of control plans, procedures, and inspection methods that improve compliance, efficiency, and overall quality performance. Good attendance and punctuality are critical to success in this role, as consistent presence is essential to supporting production schedules, inspection flow, and overall quality objectives. Essential Functions: Perform advanced in-process and final inspections of materials, mechanical assemblies, electromechanical assemblies, and electronic assemblies. Inspect products and documentation for compliance with L3Harris workmanship standards, engineering requirements, customer specifications, work instructions, control plans, and other applicable requirements. Interpret drawings, diagrams, specifications, parts lists, and other technical documentation to determine product conformance and acceptance status. Select and apply appropriate inspection methods and techniques for complex, new, or non-routine assignments. Support resolution of product conformance issues by partnering with cross-functional teams and assisting with investigations. Apply industry workmanship standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620, during inspection activities. Support First Article Inspection activities in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Review, analyze, and report quality performance data related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems. Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process performance, and inspection efficiency. Apply corrective and preventive action principles, including root cause analysis and control of nonconforming material. Support development and revision of Control Plans, procedures, work instructions, and other quality documentation. Train and mentor less experienced inspectors and technicians on inspection methods, standards, and quality expectations. Coordinate work activities as directed by leadership and help balance inspection priorities. Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other functional teams to ensure requirements are met.
