You would be responsible for analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing operations and changes related to personnel, material, machines and facilities. Work involves leadership ability, critical thinking and communication skills. Makes decisions with mentorship from supervisors.

Responsibilities

Confirms or recommends changes to layouts, labor control and/or material control   Frequent contact with others outside the work group   Assists in developing accurate methods and optimum operation layout   Makes operation descriptions and performs the vital calculations to complete studies and change routines or other systems of labor and material control      Required Qualifications:      Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Industrial Engineering   Must be graduating between August 202 7 and June 202 9   Able to work full - time, 40 hours per week   Must be w illing to work in a plant environment      Preferred Qualifications:   Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience   Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust   Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric   Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects at any given       Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to:   Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.   Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections.   Promptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals. Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes.   Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold).   Frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work.   Lift or carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds and periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 40 lbs.   Occasionally sit, climb (including ladders and lifts) and drive vehicles and equipment.   GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
