Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Systems Engineering General Summary: The QUALCOMM Location Systems Team works on the architecture, design, implementation and validation of algorithms for world-class location and navigation technology, from concept to commercialization. This position is focused primarily on GNSS-based location and navigation, in particular the physical layer or Measurement Engine part of the GNSS receiver. Main responsibilities for this position include: Design the signal processing algorithms for acquiring, tracking, and measuring GNSS signals Model, simulate, and verify GNSS Measurement Engine sub-systems that are part of functional pre-product and final product design implementation Support hardware, firmware, software and RF teams with verification of GNSS receiver prototypes and products Provide system support for debug and performance optimization Drive resolution of technical issues with cross-functional teams Escalate issues in an appropriate and timely manner Apply advanced problem solving for complex GNSS receiver subsystems including RF, HW, and FW implementation Leverage AI tools to optimize the system design workflow Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of GNSS systems and receiver design Familiar with tracking loop, demodulation, and decoding algorithms Familiar with digital hardware / RTL design concepts Experience with fixed-point modeling for hardware verification Experience with C/C++, Python, Matlab, and/or other simulation and modeling tools/languages Experience with machine learning algorithm design and implementation Experience using AI tools in the system design workflow Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
