Job Summary
Manages the productivity, financial and overall performance of multiple recycling operating units. Ensures Operating Units meet and/or exceed annual objectives and successfully implement organizational initiatives. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists in the development and implementation of the Area’s recycling operating plans, consistent with the accomplishment of long-range established objectives which will enhance effectiveness and delineate responsibilities and authority Reviews and evaluates the area recycling operations performance on a continuing basis and establishes proper measures of performance Counsel managers as to the execution of programs, processes or initiatives, and when necessary, provides direction for modification in work plans or implementation of contingency plans. Assists in the development of operating unit budget in a timely manner, forecasting financial and human resource needs for future time periods. Assists managers in budget optimization; provides budget compliance support. Oversees human resource needs of the department, including selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions Ensures recycling operations have the necessary resources required to operate the plants in the safest, most efficient and effective manner possible Facilitates regularly scheduled Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews, and executes prescribed action plans or programs to continuously improve equipment/facility utilization, equipment maintenance, labor and material costs Conducts regular cost of goods sold (COGS) reviews to ensure the plants maintain or improve their gross margin spread as COGS fluctuate Implements and maintains programs to improve safety, productivity, and profitability of the Area; Ensures compliance with
