We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. A Data Center Engineering Operations Technician role is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. Key job responsibilities SAFETY Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture. ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE - Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS’s), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers. - Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) - Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.) - Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance - Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with health & safety regulations). - Ability to work shifts A day in the life A Day in the Life of a DCEO EOT Shift Start The day begins with a handover briefing from the outgoing team. You review active alarms, tickets, and any equipment in abnormal state. A quick scan of the BMS confirms critical systems — power, cooling, and fire suppression — are operating within parameters. On the Floor You conduct facility walkdowns: checking UPS rooms, generator fuel levels, chiller plants, and electrical switchgear. Meter readings are logged, and anything out of spec gets flagged immediately. Vendors arrive for scheduled maintenance — you manage permits and escort them through. Responding & Resolving Alarms demand swift action. A temperature excursion in a data hall means troubleshooting a CRAH unit. You follow documented procedures, isolate the fault, and restore normal operations — all while updating the shift log. Shift End You hand over a clean picture to the incoming team: work completed, issues outstanding, and what's ahead tomorrow.
