Position

Summary The Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Chemical Engineering Section Leader (SL) role is focused on leading an engineering team that comprehensively owns, maintains, supports, and improves specialty and bulk chemical operations at Samsung. This role is also responsible for supporting the planning, construction, startup and commissioning of new equipment. As a part of the Chemical Systems Team, you will provide support by interacting with the on-site operations and maintenance team for HPM (Hazardous Process Material) Chemical, Gas, and Slurry activities as required. Role and Responsibilities Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For: Chemical Systems Engineer TR will lead and direct manage a small team of ~10 engineers. Lead and participate in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance. Provide technical expertise and ownership for chemical systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems. Engineer will interact with operations teams, maintenance teams, construction teams, and equipment vendors to sustain and maintain equipment. Support technical troubleshooting of emergent equipment issues. Ensure compliance to all regulatory codes and standards applicable to equipment set (including PSM/RMP). Work with maintenance teams to plan and execute non-standard equipment maintenance to address failures or equipment improvements. Communicate and coordinate with Fab Engineering groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability. Support all aspects of capacity planning and capacity increase projects involving the demolition and installation of new equipment and associated infrastructure. Effectively manage strategies and projects related to end-of-life assets to ensure reliability and safety to site. Continually drive group culture toward greater learning, development, and overall job satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need: BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or related technical field. Minimum of 5 year’s direct operations experience related to gas and/or chemical supply systems. Semiconductor or electronics facility support preferred, with an emphasis on safety and hazardous process materials. Direct leadership and management of teams responsible for the operation and maintenance of chemical equipment is preferred. The current base salary range for this role is between $113,500 - $151,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
