Job Summary
Dominion Energy is seeking candidates for an Engineer position within the Gas Operations Engineering & Construction group. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining schedules and budgets for large distribution and transmission natural gas projects within the Southern Division that is used by the Manager of Engineering and Construction to report budget variances and make decisions regarding execution of the Division’s infrastructure plan. Along with these duties, the engineer will provide project management for natural gas projects. Project management responsibility involves examining, planning and managing natural gas pipeline projects within the Southern Division (Charleston, Summerville, Beaufort Bluffton and outlying areas). This is a highly visible and challenging position in one of the fastest growing markets in the Country. The position is located in Charleston, SC. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following: Engineer
3+ years of relevant engineering experience; registered E.I.T.
Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals.
Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position.
Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives.
Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
Senior Engineer
5+ years of relevant engineering experience; registered E.I.T.
Able to perform highly difficult and complex work requiring extensive knowledge of the subject matter and significant experience within the functional assignment area.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead.
Proven decision-making skills.
Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
Staff Engineer
8+ years of relevant engineering experience; registered P.E.
Plans and conducts complex work requiring independent judgement to develop solutions.
Serves as technical expert on engineering related legal and regulatory issues.
A resource to management on more complex engineering problems and issues.
Perform research to find innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions to operational problems within assigned area. Education Requirements
Required Degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree): Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited Engineering Program from a recognized college or univeristy Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
