The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to play an influential role in shaping the future of a global industry leader. As a senior member of Corporate Development, you will help identify, evaluate, and execute strategic transactions that advance Thermo Fisher’s long-term growth agenda. You will work on complex, high-impact opportunities with significant visibility across the organization and direct exposure to senior leadership. You will be involved from the earliest stages of strategy and opportunity identification through valuation, diligence, negotiation, executive decision-making, and transaction execution. For an accomplished M&A professional, this role offers a rare combination of transaction scale and volume, senior-level exposure, strategic influence, and the opportunity to help shape one of the world’s leading life sciences companies. What You’ll Do Shape M&A strategy and develop decision-support analyses for Thermo Fisher’s senior leadership team. Identify and evaluate strategic opportunities , including acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and divestitures. Lead transactions from strategy through execution , including valuation, diligence, negotiation, and closing. Influence critical investment decisions by developing and presenting compelling strategic and financial business cases to senior executives. Develop market perspectives by evaluating industry dynamics, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities. Partner across the enterprise with business leaders and functional experts to advance strategic priorities. Lead and develop talent , mentoring Analyst, Associate, and Manager-level Corporate Development professionals. What You’ll Bring Undergraduate degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Science, or a technical discipline; MBA preferred. 10+ years of meaningful M&A experience across acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, investment banking, corporate development, or related transaction environments. Significant experience evaluating and executing complex transactions, including valuation, financial modeling, analysis, and negotiation. Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business priorities into actionable inorganic growth opportunities. Demonstrated leadership experience and a track record of developing high-performing professionals. Strong executive presence and communication skills , with the confidence to engage, influence, and present to senior leaders. Outstanding financial and analytical capabilities with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
