Reporting into the General Manager, the Director of Finance will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team , responsible for leading the hotel's financial strategy, governance, commercial performance, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and risk management while driving business growth and operational excellence. For the right candidate, visa sponsorship will be considered.
In a nutshell, the Director of Finance will be primarily responsible for the below:
Drive Financial Strategy & Business Performance
Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis to maximize profitability, support growth initiatives, and achieve hotel performance objectives.
Provide Executive Leadership & Financial Governance
Serve as a key member of the Executive Committee, leading the Finance team, ensuring strong internal controls, managing audits, and maintaining compliance with Marriott standards and regulatory requirements.
Partner with Stakeholders & Influence Decision-Making
Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager, ownership group, and leadership team by providing commercial insights, financial guidance, and clear communication on business performance and opportunities.
Oversee Financial Operations, Reporting & Risk Management
Ensure accurate financial reporting, cash flow management, tax compliance, balance sheet integrity, and implementation of robust processes that safeguard assets and mitigate business risks.
Develop Talent & Foster a High-Performing Culture
Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team through recruitment, training, performance management, succession planning, and cross-functional collaboration to build a strong and engaged department.
Ideal Profile
Proven experience in a similar leadership role (Executive Committee level) within an international luxury hotel environment Strong people leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Sound commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, costs, and profitability. Open work rights for NZ (if not, open to visa sponsorship for the right candidate).
