At Schwab, we are committed to protecting our clients and firm assets while delivering a strong client experience. The Banking Ops Fraud Modeling team develops and enhances fraud risk strategies and models across money movement products, including wires, ACH, new accounts, debit card, checks, and other Schwab products. This team uses advanced analytics to identify emerging threats, strengthen fraud detection, and partner across the organization to monitor and improve fraud prevention effectiveness.
In this role, you will help protect Schwab clients and firm assets by developing, testing, and enhancing fraud detection strategies for channels including debit card transactions, checks, Zelle, and BillPay. You will analyze fraud trends, identify emerging risks, and tune existing strategies to help balance fraud prevention with a strong client experience.
You will use SQL, business intelligence tools, and Python to evaluate large datasets of transaction activity, uncover fraud patterns, and support real-time fraud decisioning. You will also create reporting and performance insights to share strategy effectiveness, key trends, and recommendations with business partners and stakeholders. What you have Required Qualifications:
2+ years performing data analysis with some combination of SQL and Python Good understanding of basic Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) Basic understanding of KYC practices, fraud loss types, and transaction flows Strong data visualization skills Ability to work as part of a team and independently Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to produce high-quality work with minimal errors in a demanding environment
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of analytical experience in the areas of financial crimes, fraud, and financial transactions 2+ years financial services/banking operations experience Working knowledge with fraud issues
