Job Description

BUSINESS OVERVIEW U.S. Bancorp Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) is building out a newly created Financial Risk & Strategy function to provide dedicated front-line risk management, financial resource management, and strategic oversight across the FICC businesses, including Macro (Rates / FX), Structured Credit, Working Capital Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Credit, and Commodities. This build-out coincides with U.S. Bancorp's transition across the Category II regulatory asset threshold and the integration of BTIG LLC's equities and prime brokerage capabilities, creating a highly visible mandate at the intersection of risk, finance, and strategy within Global Capital Markets.

POSITION

OVERVIEW Reporting to the Head of FICC Financial Risk & Strategy, the Director will serve as a front-line financial risk partner to Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) businesses, providing oversight of market, counterparty, and credit risk exposures, limits, concentrations, and risk-adjusted returns. This role operates within the first line of defense and works in close partnership with the respective second-line Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, and Credit Risk teams to establish clear, well-governed risk boundaries, escalation protocols, and governance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Risk Oversight Provide first-line oversight of market, counterparty, and credit risk exposures across FICC trading desks, including limit utilization, sensitivities, VaR, stress testing, current exposure, potential future exposure, collateralization, and portfolio concentrations Analyze and challenge desk-level risk-taking, counterparty exposures, and credit concentrations against approved limits and risk appetite; escalate breaches, deteriorating credit quality, and emerging concentrations to senior management Partner with the respective second-line Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, and Credit Risk teams to establish and maintain clear first-line/second-line boundaries, escalation protocols, approval standards, and governance cadence Capital and Financial Performance Support the FICC Balance Sheet Council with risk-adjusted return analysis and capital decomposition by desk and product Partner with Finance on P&L attribution and risk-driven variance analysis Prepare risk commentary and materials for senior management, Finance teams, and governance forums Regulatory and Strategic Initiatives Contribute to FRTB, SA-CCR, and CVA capital framework implementation as they affect FICC trading books Support BTIG LLC integration workstreams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of experience in financial risk management, trading risk, counterparty risk, credit risk, or a related front-line risk function at a broker-dealer or bank Strong grounding in financial risk frameworks, including VaR, sensitivities, stress testing, limits, counterparty exposure measurement, collateral and netting concepts, and credit assessment across rates, credit, or securitized products Working knowledge of FRTB, SA-CCR, CVA, and related regulatory capital frameworks Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or CFA / FRM / PRM designation preferred Demonstrated ability to operate across first- and second-line functions with strong stakeholder management skills FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required, or ability to obtain within a defined onboarding period Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with
