The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to lead daily store operations, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and achieve sales and operational objectives. This role develops and inspires high-performing teams while driving merchandising execution, financial performance, and operational excellence. Through collaborative leadership and sound business decision-making, the Assistant Store Manager helps create an engaging environment that supports Mattel's brand, people, and business goals.

Lead daily Store and Restaurant operations to achieve sales, customer service, financial, and operational goals while ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. Develop, coach, and inspire leaders and associates through ongoing feedback, performance management, succession planning, and talent development to build a high-performing team. Drive sales performance by monitoring key performance indicators, modeling selling behaviors, and implementing strategies that increase customer engagement, conversion, UPT, ADS, and customer data capture. Oversee operational execution by ensuring effective inventory management, merchandising standards, cash handling, workflow efficiency, and overall store readiness. Partner with the Store Manager and cross-functional business partners to execute store strategies, support organizational initiatives, and deliver consistent operational excellence. Manage facility maintenance, vendor relationships, and store projects to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for customers and team members. Analyze financial performance, payroll, expenses, and operational metrics to identify opportunities, improve efficiency, and support informed business decisions.

Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or coursework in Business, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred. Minimum of five years of progressive retail leadership experience in a high-volume, customer-focused environment. Experience leading, coaching, and developing retail management teams. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proven leadership, coaching, and performance management skills. Strong ability to drive sales performance and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, cash handling, and operational best practices. Financial acumen with experience managing payroll, budgets, and business performance metrics. Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
