As a Data Science Manager at Micron Fab15, you will be responsible for the vision, development, and management of a high performing and technical analytics team. Optimize team performance by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide data-driven solutions to complex strategic and tactical challenges. This is a highly collaborative role with operations, engineering, management, information technology, etc. Combine problem-solving, data-analysis, and technical skills to identify, quantify, and solve business problems. You will lead and participate in a team that is constantly challenging the boundaries of what is possible. You will develop and improve individual capability of current and future Micron data scientists. Establish and monitor team performance metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities. You will lead your team to generate algorithms, create computer models, and test and validate models that are scalable for production. Your team will discover and present business relevant “stories” to business stakeholders using data visualization methods. You will develop expert-level knowledge of Micron and use this knowledge to deliver prescriptive, actionable solutions to stakeholders. Be responsible for conveying corporate business initiatives, providing direction thereof, and driving a clear understanding of line of sight to department and corporate strategic objectives within your team. Lead research in and keep up to date on the latest developments and trends in data science tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists. Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career development. Foster a collaborative, high-accountability culture of experimentation and continuous learning. Manage hiring, onboarding, and resource allocation across projects. Solution Development & Delivery Oversee end-to-end solution development of models and tools for Yield/Quailtiy/Equip Efficiency/Labor Productivity, and AI tools/what-if analysis. Drive analytics for manufacturing value engineering—identifying the actionbable solutions to drive Site Goals. Ensure solutions are production-ready, scalable, and integrated into business workflows and decision-making. Establish best practices for model development, validation, monitoring, and governance. AI Innovation & Emerging Technology Drive the evaluation and adoption of cutting-edge AI technologies, Generative AI (LLMs), AI agents and multi-agent systems, and emerging interoperability standards such as Agent-to-Agent (A2A) and the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Stay ahead of the rapidly evolving AI landscape and translate new capabilities into practical, responsible business applications.

Qualifications

Required (not all need to be met): Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 5+ years of experience in data science / advanced analytics, 1+ year managing or leading teams will be a plus. Proven track record of delivering data science solutions that drove measurable cost savings or cost impact. Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern ML/statistical methods. Experience deploying models into production and working with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, etc.). Hands-on familiarity with Generative AI / LLMs and an understanding of AI agents and agentic workflows. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese/English. Semiconductor industry experience is a strong plus
