About this role

What if quality evaluation happened in real time, as code is written, not as a gate before it ships? What if builders never had to choose between speed and confidence because both were woven into the same moment of creation? What if experience quality, including accessibility, correctness, performance, and consistency, were not a separate discipline but the natural output of how software is developed?

Experience

Quality Technologies (EQT) exists to make that future real. We are embedding quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle so that building with confidence becomes the default and every customer can rely on what Amazon ships, regardless of how they interact with our products. Today our capabilities span test generation, defect prevention, production verification, and quality measurement. They serve thousands of teams and they deliver results. The opportunity ahead is to close the distance between writing code and knowing it's right: to strategically apply AI where it creates the most leverage, to rethink evaluation around intent and outcomes without sacrificing the precision and consistency customers depend on, and to bring human judgment and machine speed together so that real-time quality becomes the reality, not the aspiration. We need a leader who can see that full picture, find the right leverage points, and make it inevitable. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager - Technical to own the end-to-end product portfolio for experience quality at Amazon. This is not a role for someone who wants to optimize an existing roadmap. It is a role for someone who wants to define what quality means in an AI-native development world, determine how it should be measured and enforced at scale, and build the platform that makes it effortless for every builder and undeniable for every customer. Key job responsibilities - Define the product vision and strategy for experience quality at Amazon: articulate where the industry is going, where Amazon must lead, and what the unified platform looks like in three to five years. Defend this vision at the highest levels of leadership. - Converge a fragmented landscape into a coherent product experience. Decide what to build, what to partner on, what to deprecate, and what to leave alone. Turn today's collection of strong individual capabilities into a platform that is greater than the sum of its parts. - Anticipate the quality implications of AI-native development. As code generation, agentic workflows, and autonomous systems reshape how software is built, define what verification, trust, and confidence mean in that world and ensure our platform evolves ahead of the curve. - Serve as the voice of the builder. Engage directly with engineering teams, leaders, and partner organizations to understand how they ship, what slows them down, what they fear, and what would make quality feel like a tailwind rather than a gate. - Drive adoption across organizations you do not own. Quality platforms succeed only when they are used. Build the strategy, the narrative, and the integration model that earns adoption without mandates. - Establish measurement and accountability frameworks that give leaders at every level clear visibility into experience quality, enable data-driven investment decisions, and create feedback loops that continuously sharpen the quality bar. - Partner deeply with engineering leadership on architecture, technical trade-offs, and system design. Evaluate proposals for extensibility, cost, and second-order consequences. - Raise the product management bar across the organization: mentor PMTs, establish operating practices, model strategic thinking, and develop others. A day in the life As the Principal PMT, you will set a three-to-five year vision that spans the full quality lifecycle: how defects are prevented before code is written, how output is verified before it ships, how production signals are monitored and fed back to sharpen the bar, and how all of this
