The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and integrating complex systems at every stage of their lifecycle. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation with an eye toward accessibility, optimization, and security, within the infrastructure. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate should be a highly motivated, results-driven individual who thrives in a cross-team collaborative environment. Responsibilities: Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staff Use expert-level configuration, administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high availability of infrastructure and systems Participate in the design of information and operational support systems Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system engineering tasks Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Minimum of 5 years’ experience in systems engineering or minimum of 7 years’ experience in a senior systems administrator role Linux and Windows architect experience with a focus on deploying, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting Virtualization expertise (vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V) This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
