The impact you’ll make
Join Lam as a Fixture Engineer where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the new product pilot production factory, virtual manufacturing, or high-volume manufacturing production factory. Using your knowledge of technology and engineering principles you will oversee the planning, development, and documentation of jigs & fixtures. You'll tackle technical, quality, and production challenges. Your expertise optimizing manufacturing costs and standards helps shape Lam's commitment to innovation and efficiency in manufacturing. In this role, you will play a vital part in the success of manufacturing operations by helping teams achieve production targets, uphold high quality standards, and drive continuous improvement. Your contributions will be essential in enhancing manufacturing efficiency, ensuring product quality, and maintaining operational safety through jigs & fixture optimization and continuous improvement. What you’ll do
Design and procure jigs & fixtures to sustain and improve existing manufacturing assembly process and drive innovative fixture solutions. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers & industrial engineers to improve manufacturing cycle time, accuracy, and repeatability. Work with manufacturing, quality and training teams to ensure fixture compatibility and effectiveness. Participate process demo/build prototypes and conduct trials to validate fixture performance. Provide solutions in RCCA and 8D activities in resolving manufacturing escalations related fixture issues. Prepare fixture handover documents during project transition to high volume manufacturing. Ensure that all jigs & fixtures adheres to relevant safety regulations and quality. Validate and qualify all new and existing jigs & fixtures with basic measurement tools before launching. Respond and provide support for fixture-related issues on the Manufacturing shop floor. Diagnose and repair damaged or worn fixtures to minimize downtime. Support in jigs & fixtures inventory management and fixture maintenance & calibration related topics. Coordinate with production, logistics and engineering teams to ensure fixture availability and readiness. Identify opportunities to improve fixture for durability, ergonomics, and ease of maintenance. Generate technical documentation such as fixture buy-off, fixture inspection and maintenance work instruction Train fixture technicians in fixture setup and troubleshooting. Support daily task given by Manager from time to time. Who we’re looking for
Creative, Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Skilled troubleshooting capabilities and aptitude for hands-on work in the areas of electrical, pneumatics and mechanical assemblies. Experience in fixture engineering ecosystem. Ability in reading engineering drawings and schematics. Ability work independently and in a team. Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance. Willingness to work flexible hours. Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English. Proven stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders or customers in technical matter. Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience. Proficiency in CAD softwares e.g. Siemen NX & Creo Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and Weld Symbols. Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles.
