Job Description
The Lead Research Analyst will support the Alternative Investments and Manager Research teams by performing investment data analysis, due diligence support, reporting, and operational research activities across both private and liquid alternative investment offerings. The role will partner closely with investment analysts and portfolio research professionals to support ongoing manager monitoring, research projects, investment onboarding activities, and various reporting initiatives. This position provides broad exposure to alternative investments, manager research processes, and investment due diligence activities across multiple asset classes. The analyst will have the opportunity to develop investment knowledge while supporting a wide range of research, reporting, and analytical functions for both private and liquid alternative investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Support quarterly and ongoing monitoring of alternative investment offerings by gathering, validating, and analyzing performance, asset, distribution, redemption, and portfolio-level data. Prepare recurring research reports, dashboards, and analytical materials utilizing internal systems, FactSet, Morningstar, Preqin, Bloomberg, and other third-party data sources. Assist with due diligence activities by reviewing offering documents, RFIs, marketing materials, and manager communications and extracting key information for analyst review. Coordinate and maintain investment research databases, due diligence records, SharePoint sites, and document repositories. Support manager onboarding, product review, and completion memo processes through data collection, drafting, and documentation. Assist with ad hoc analytical projects, including portfolio construction, holdings analyses, risk metrics, and other investment-related research requests. Support recurring private alternatives reporting initiatives, including industry data gathering, performance benchmarking, and market intelligence reporting. Participate in manager meetings and introductory calls, documenting key discussion points and maintaining organized records of manager interactions. Coordinate the distribution, collection, and tracking of due diligence questionnaires, RFI responses, and related materials. Partner with investment research professionals across multiple manager research disciplines to support team initiatives and cross-functional projects.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in investment research, due diligence, or alternative investments Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), preferably in Finance, Economics, Investments, or related field Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage work independently and prioritize effectively Active Series 7 license or ability to obtain within 120 days Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of alternative investment strategies and
