Job Description

Power Project Manager Shape the electrical backbone of a live, critical-infrastructure campus Every flight, every terminal system, every piece of ground equipment depends on power that simply cannot fail. We're looking for a Power Project Manager to lead the delivery of the infrastructure that keeps it running — today, and for decades to come. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of major electrical infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning, working across LV, MV and HV networks, substations, and next-generation resilience and renewable energy systems — all within one of the most demanding operational environments there is.

What You'll Be Doing

Deliver power infrastructure that matters. Lead end-to-end projects across LV, MV and HV networks — new and upgraded substations, switchgear, transformers, SCADA and protection systems — ensuring everything meets ESB Networks requirements, airport safety rules, and IEC/EN standards. Build the resilient, sustainable grid of the future. Take the lead on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar PV, backup generation and UPS strategies. Help shape the airport's electrification roadmap — from eGSE charging and fleet electrification to heat-pump demand and smart-grid integration. Protect critical assets. Oversee condition surveys and lifecycle assessments of substations, transformers, switchgear and buried utilities — using GPR, partial discharge testing and thermographic analysis to inform real investment decisions. Lead world-class engineering and design governance. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across electrical, civil, structural, ICT and controls. Run technical reviews, HAZOPs and commissioning planning, and ensure every project is built to last — and properly handed over. Own the programme, commercially and operationally. Manage complex works in a live operational environment with zero tolerance for disruption. Administer NEC4 contracts (Options A, C and D), manage compensation events and change control, and keep cost, risk and programme firmly under control. Be the connective tissue. Build strong relationships across Operations, Assets, Safety and ICT internally, and with ESB Networks, contractors, consultants and statutory authorities externally — balancing technical performance, safety, cost and long-term asset value at every turn.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring Minimum 7+ years experience delivering complex power infrastructure projects — ideally within a live, safety-critical operational environment Strong technical grounding across LV/MV/HV systems, substations, and renewable or resilience infrastructure (BESS, solar PV, backup generation) Hands-on experience with NEC4 contract administration (Options
