About Rubrik
Rubrik is the leader in data security, helping organizations achieve cyber resilience through our Rubrik Security Cloud platform. We protect data, detect threats, and enable rapid recovery for over 6,000 customers worldwide. Our mission is to secure the world's data.
Reports To: Chief Legal Officer
Location: Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area preferred (Open to Remote)
The Vice President of Global Government Affairs will establish and lead Rubrik’s global public policy strategy, establishing the company as the premier authority on data security, cyber resilience, and AI safety in government affairs. Operating at the intersection of public policy and commercial growth, this leader will engage directly with heads of state, legislative leaders, and key regulatory agencies (such as CISA, DoD, NIST, and international equivalents).
By securing Rubrik’s "seat at the table" in critical national security and policy dialogues, this executive will elevate the Rubrik brand, shape emerging cybersecurity/AI legislation, and serve as an executive catalyst for Public Sector (Fed/SLED) sales expansion.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish direct relationships with foreign ministries, heads of state, and key U.S. political and federal agencies to position Rubrik as a core advisor on cyber resilience and AI data protection.
• Position Rubrik's executives and serve as a primary spokesperson for Congressional hearings, White House roundtables, and international policy summits on cybersecurity policy and AI governance.
• Partner closely with Public Sector and Enterprise sales leadership to unlock government procurement opportunities and open doors for deep strategic accounts.
• Track, analyze, and shape legislation surrounding zero-trust architectures, ransomware response, data governance, and AI security frameworks.
• Outmaneuver competitors by embedding Rubrik’s technical vision into federal standards and public policy frameworks.
Qualifications
• 15+ years leading government relations or public policy in high-growth tech, cybersecurity, or SaaS environments.
• Proven track record establishing C-level/head-of-state relationships and shaping national policy frameworks (e.g., CISA guidelines, Executive Orders on AI/Cyber).
• Deep understanding of how policy strategy directly enables Public Sector (Fed/SLED) go-to-market motions.
• Clear experience managing agency relations, congressional testimony, and international government affairs.
