The Buyer is responsible for Nucor’s purchasing of materials, products, and services.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing requisitions/purchase orders, negotiating and enforcing Nucor’s commercial and legal contract terms and conditions, developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors/contractors, contributing to Nucor enterprise-wide purchasing efforts, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, maintaining supplier compliance files, and coordinating with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.   This posting may close prior to August 26, 2026, if a set number of qualified applicants has been reached Minimum Qualifications:

2 years of Purchasing or Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.  Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications:

Large construction/capital project experience Experience in the following disciplines: business law, contract management, internal controls, inventory management, negotiations, procurement, risk management, accounting, or warehouse.
