Pay Type: Hourly Pay: $23-24/hr Schedule: Mon-Fri 2nd shift - 1:45pm-9:45pm and 3rd shift 9:45pm-5:45am Summary The Safety Coordinator II is responsible for maintaining the overall site safety programs, ensuring safety SOP’s are followed, reporting and/or recording of all workplace injuries, incidents, and accidents, as well as ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, vendors, and visitors on site. Essential Functions Serve as the site Safety Leader which includes conducting safety team meetings, audits to monitor safety, and act as a resource for employees, supervisors, and management when safety issues and questions arise. Work in conjunction with Ryder Department Managers and Supervisors to ensure that safety requirements are being met Advise the General Manager on any safety concerns and submit preventive measures and/or corrective actions for review. Plan, implement, and conduct, safety training modules for employees. Lead the safety team of First Responders by providing more specific training and education. Stay up to date on local, state, and federal safety laws and requirements that pertain to Ryder operations. Perform safety surveys and inspections, prepare written reports of findings, submit recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follow up to ensure corrective or preventive measures have been implemented. Maintain OSHA Log 300 and ensure all injury reporting is compliant with state and federal OSHA laws. Establish, and maintain, a good working relationship with the local occupational medicine clinic used by the site. Set up the company protocols with the clinic to ensure the site’s needs are met consistently. Ensure the injured party/parties receive immediate first aid and/or medical treatment as applicable. Create and implement site specific safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations governed by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and the DOT (Department of Transportation). Follow all site and OSHA safety rules while in office areas and on production floor. Set an example for all employees by adhering to the site Dress Code including wearing all required PPE. Maintain relevant professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations. Conduct and document post injury/incident/accident investigations and prepare written reports identifying root cause, hazards, and human elements that contributed to the event Skills and Abilities Demonstrates analytical skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, Required Effective interpersonal skills Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, Preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent oral, and written, communication skills., Required Proficient in Spanish written and verbal communication skills Bilingual, Preferred Understand computer hardware and software, especially word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
