Role
Summary The Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics leads the UK's business intelligence, analytics and data science capability, translating operational and commercial questions into trusted, decision-ready insight across all capabilities and service lines. The role is accountable for embedding the UK BI operating model currently being landed, ensuring delivery is standardised, prioritised and aligned to the capability-based operating model rather than delivered contract by contract. The postholder is also tasked with building the newly integrated Data Science and Advanced Analytics capability, moving the organisation from descriptive reporting towards predictive and prescriptive insight that demonstrably improves operational performance and contract profitability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1 . Lead the UK Business Intelligence & Analytics capability, providing direction, coaching and performance management to three BI Managers, the Operations and Delivery Lead and setting the standards for a team of BI Engineers from Associate to Senior level. 2 . Embed and sustain the UK BI operating model, establishing a single demand intake, transparent prioritisation, capacity planning, release governance and published service levels, and holding the line on the model once landed to eliminate duplicate build and shadow reporting. 3 . Own the UK BI product estate end to end, ensuring a single version of the truth through certified data products, agreed metric definitions, clear data ownership, and consistent engineering standards for modelling, testing, documentation and release. 4. Build and grow the Data Science and Advanced Analytics capability, defining its target operating model, funding case and delivery method, and establishing a value-prioritised use case pipeline supported by proportionate model governance, validation, monitoring and ethical review. 5 . Act as the senior BI and analytics voice to the UK Executive, capability leaders and contract directors, converting business problems into analytical work and analytical output into decisions, and challenging demand that is poorly framed or low value. 6. Support growth by providing credible data, insight and analytics content for bids, rebids and mobilisations, and ensure all client-facing and contractual reporting obligations are met accurately and on time. 7. Own the BI element of the UK data platform roadmap in partnership with Technology, together with data quality, security and information governance, third party and tooling relationships, and the capability's cost base and vendor commercials.
