Job Overview

The Diagnostic and Test Engineer plays a critical role in enhancing the product quality and reliability of mobile platforms. The Engineer will be responsible for reproducing and root-causing customer-reported and internal ATE and system-level failures, collaborating with Qualcomm technology teams globally to drive cross-functional debug efforts, and delivering actionable mitigations including production screens and software workarounds to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction. The position offers deep exposure to Premium Tier Mobile SoC architecture spanning both HW and SW domains, with hands-on experience diagnosing complex, multi-layered system issues across the full semiconductor test flow including ATE and system level test. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong independent task management, operating effectively with minimal supervision while remaining adaptable to evolving priorities and dynamic problem environments. Success in this role requires effective collaboration across SW and HW teams spanning the US and India, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to triage and manage multiple high-complexity issues concurrently to meet delivery timelines. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to Collaborate with internal test and customer-facing teams to triage failures and drive targeted experiments to root-cause issues at ATE and system level Drive cross-functional debug efforts to deliver actionable mitigations — via production screens or software workarounds — to uphold product quality and customer satisfaction Leverage production test data of failing samples to identify patterns and parametric marginalities, and engage relevant teams to drive targeted improvements in production test screens Develop and execute system-level stress tests to validate SoC IPs and hardware blocks under realistic operating conditions Communicate engineering status, findings, and risk assessments clearly and regularly to management and stakeholders Work with teams to develop automatic reports, dashboards, and charts to share progress growth with key stack holders. Capture and document learning and implementation in upcoming projects Independently manage and follow through on assigned tasks with minimal supervision Provide regular updates to key stack holders during project execution Skills and Qualifications The candidate should have exposure to some of the below and be flexible to learn the other skillsets Experience with the Advantest 93000 platform or other ATE platform, Teradyne or other system level test platforms Hands-on experience developing and executing system-level stress and concurrency tests for SoC IPs and hardware blocks Experience with data analytic tools such as O+, Data Power, Exensio etc will be required Experience developing test cases, analyzing specifications, creating test plans, and driving test execution for Android-based devices Exposure to Android Architecture, Android Boot process, Kernel, Core BSP, and Android Performance Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional debug, root cause failures, and define mitigations via production screens or software workarounds Strong software skills (Python, C#, .NET framework, Java, C/C++, etc.) for programming and debugging test codes.
