Role
Summary The Supervisor Inflight oversees employee engagement and daily operations at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. This includes supporting the Flight Attendant (FA) group by ensuring the Service Framework is performed and executed and providing FAs with resources and information needed for success. This position is responsible for assisting in the operation by meeting inbound and outbound flights, problem solving, mitigating delays, meeting, or exceeding performance objectives, including safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. As a people leader, the Supervisor will maintain consistent applications of company and contractual policies as they related to FAs in all domiciles.
Key Duties
Supervise and direct work of all Flight Attendants based and traveling through the hub to ensure safe and efficient operations are met; this includes regulatory compliance, customer service, performance, and reliability objectives. Demonstrates commitment to Alaska and Hawaiian’s flight attendants by providing superior customer service, uphold professional standards, and perform their job defined by company policy and the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM); this includes ensuring frontline employees are supported and recognized by meeting time-sensitive team member expectations Supervise the execution of, and on-going adherence to, new or existing policies and procedures by ensuring Flight Attendants are up to date on required training, bulletins, company updates, and required tools. Drive engagement initiatives to create a culture based on the Care Framework. Coach and mentor Flight Attendants through effective and ongoing feedback. Sustain Flight Attendant appreciation and recognition initiatives. Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback focusing on coaching in the moment and in the following areas: attendance, appearance standards, manual compliance, delays, on-the-job injuries, customer complaints, and employee-to-employee conflict. Investigate and report delays and irregular flight activity and propose solutions in how to avoid such delays in the future. Create a culture of accountability by see it, own it, and change it. Influence team culture through positive actions, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors. Engage with Flight Attendants at outbound and inbound flights. Take initiative to address problems and implement improvements. Lead and participate in additional project work. Liaise with other departments or the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) when specific flight attendant information as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills Required 3 years of customer service experience. Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree. Must be able to clear the pre-employment DOT testing & background check process. Ability to complete Alaska Airlines’ initial training/IOE, hold FAA flight attendant certificate, and remain qualified through recurrent training. Able to reach 80 vertical inches while wearing shoes and/or standing on your toes. Able to swim 90 feet assisted with a life vest. Must be able to lift up to 35lbs. Must be able to meet the company's grooming, uniform and appearance standards. Able to demonstrate the physical ability to perform the duties of a flight attendant.
