Overview
Construction Project Manager - Site Director Drives campus-based delivery solutions. Reviews engineering documentation/designs, site, and building plans by examining and analyzing technical information. Facilitates the delivery of metro-based/campus projects by making timely data-based decisions in partnership with the local project team and key stakeholders. Oversees timely execution of all procurement activities associated with resourcing and materials necessary for delivering program(s) on time and within project budget forecasts. Assists with creating and reporting on project progress regarding scope, schedule, standards, and budget. Attends and advises during scheduled owner/architect/contractor and other project meetings. Collaborates and contributes needed technical knowledge to internal teams and GC/Subcontractors to maintain the corporate vision and goals for the project. Represents Microsoft as a safety leader and advocate on all Campus/Metro construction programs, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and aggressive management of risk. Communicates risk mitigation goals and develops metrics, dashboards and/or scorecards to track, communicate, and drive progress. Advises and monitors the performance of vendors and/or contractors, ensuring compliance with contracts and prior audit results. Site Director Key Roles, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities To enhance leadership and streamline operations, each Metro project will introduce a new position called "Site Director." This role is distinct from the Construction Manager, with a broader scope of responsibilities aimed at overseeing all functions within the Metro to safely deliver the project as per agreed SLAs by providing leadership principles to empower site-based personnel to thrive and deliver success. The site director will have a hardline, reporting to region/sub-region DCD leader. The introduction of the Site Director role addresses the current gap in dedicated leaders at each site to lead all project activities. By integrating leadership and oversight into a single role, this position ensures a unified approach to managing all functions, fostering collaboration and efficiency. The purpose is to promote a fully integrated approach to managing all site activities, promoting a cohesive and streamlined management process. • Culture: Promote a positive and thriving culture enabling all personnel to work as one team. Hold staff meetings, listening sessions, and other cultural conversations to drive operational excellence. • Talent Management: Responsible for talent management of his/her direct report including connect, reward, and career development. Manage performance and developmental feedback in close collaboration with regional and subregional functional leads. This collaboration ensures that functional learning and career progression are well-managed, supporting a positive employee experience and contributing to the overall success of the project and the individual. • Safety: Provide visible leadership at site and ensure health, safety, and wellbeing of Microsoft personnel. Hold GC accountable to embody strong safety and security culture at site. • Quality: Promote quality standards at site with design, material, and field execution. Ensure all work are executed as per our quality standards and non-conformance are remediated as per quality OKR. • Schedule: Oversee and manage the execution of work as per the approved project schedule OKR. Oversee progress management and schedule predictability weekly and escalate issues to regional leadership when additional support needed or when SLAs are at risk • Cost: Work closely with all functional teams to fully understand status of project progress and scope development. Ensure the suppliers are progressing as per their commitment and solicit support for issues that put SLAs at risk.
