About the Role
Rho is seeking an Associate Compliance Officer to support our onboarding compliance team. You'll own day-to-day customer due diligence (CDD) and Know Your Business (KYB) work for new client onboarding — gathering and verifying documentation, running risk assessments against established frameworks, and escalating issues to senior compliance staff. You'll play a vital part in keeping Rho compliant with BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements while maintaining the application review velocity our customers expect. This full-time, onsite role is a strong fit for someone looking to build a career in banking or fintech compliance within a growing, mission-driven company.
What You'll Do
Support the CDD and KYC/KYB processes for new client onboarding by gathering and organizing required documentation in accordance with BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements Collect and verify client documentation, including business formation documents, ownership structures, and beneficial ownership information, escalating discrepancies to senior team members Assist in performing risk assessments on potential clients using established frameworks and checklists Flag and escalate suspicious activity or potential compliance issues identified during onboarding to senior compliance staff Coordinate with internal teams, including sales and operations, to collect outstanding client information and ensure timely onboarding Maintain accurate and complete records of client onboarding files, compliance decisions, and supporting documentation in accordance with team standards Support periodic reviews of existing client accounts by gathering and organizing documentation for senior team review Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and data pulls as directed by management Support updates to policies and procedures by documenting process changes and maintaining version-controlled records Utilize compliance technology platforms to process onboarding tasks, input data, and maintain system accuracy Follow established onboarding compliance policies and procedures, providing feedback to senior staff on potential process improvements Participate in compliance training sessions and apply best practices to daily onboarding tasks, developing foundational knowledge of fintech and banking regulation through ongoing training and self-study Take on other activities as determined by your supervisor You Have A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred 1–2 years of experience in compliance, finance, banking, or a related operations role Working understanding of BSA/AML, OFAC, and FinCEN requirements, including CDD and KYB concepts Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization, and a proactive approach to problem-solving Ability to manage a queue independently, prioritize across competing deadlines, and meet required service levels Comfort working in compliance technology platforms and learning new systems quickly Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to know when to escalate Compensation & Schedule Full-time, salaried position with benefits Onsite work environment Standard weekday schedule; occasional flexibility may be needed to meet onboarding volume Opportunity for growth into senior compliance roles based on performance and business needs Diversity is a core value at Rho.
