A Day in the Life Medtronic’s Cardiac Surgery business is focused on advancing the treatment of structural heart disease, coronary artery disease, and cardiac arrhythmias through a comprehensive portfolio of surgical technologies. Working in close partnership with cardiothoracic surgeons and the broader cardiac surgery team, we provide solutions designed to support patients throughout their surgical journey. Our Cardiac Surgery portfolio includes innovative technologies for heart valve replacement, mitral and tricuspid valve repair, coronary revascularization, and surgical ablation, along with solutions that support minimally invasive cardiac surgery. This position is focused on the promotion and sales of Medtronic’s Cardiac Surgery portfolio across assigned accounts. The role partners closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, operating room teams, and hospital decision-makers to expand portfolio adoption, develop strategic customer relationships, and support both clinical and business objectives. Cardiac Surgery Sales R epresentatives must have the ability to work and/or travel outside of normal business hours, including evening and weekend on-call support. Territory for this role: San Francisco. Candidates must reside within the assigned territory and be able to travel to multiple customer accounts throughout the region up to 80% of the time; a valid driver's license, active insurance is required for this role. In addition, the final candidate must have a driving record that meets company standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Execute a territory business plan to achieve quarterly and annual revenue, unit, and market share objectives . Develop relationships with cardiac surgeons, clinical staff, and key decision-makers to expand utilization of Cardiac Surgery therapies. Identify , prioritize, and close new business opportunities within existing and competitive accounts. Deliver product education, procedural support, and clinical expertise to ensure safe and effective product use. Maintain accurate sales forecasts and account plans to drive territory performance and resource allocation. Analyze customer, market, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and inform sales strategy. Partne r cross- functionally with marketing, operations, research and development, and other internal stakeholders to address customer needs and support business objectives . Manage territory assets, inventory, expenses, and administrative reporting in accordance with company requirements. Meet the physical demands of the role, including frequent travel to customer sites, transporting product and equipment, prolonged periods of standing or walking, and working in clinical environments with exposure to radiation and infectious diseases. Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 10 + years OR associate’s degree and 8 + years OR Bachelor's Degree and 6 + years of relevant experience in sales, clinical, or related roles within medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to local qualified candidates 5+ years’ experience
