Standard Job Description Standard Job Description: Technical leader of all STE (Special Test Equipment), plans, develops, implements, tests, documents, and maintains all board and box level test sets for DAVINCI program. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

As part of the Engineering and Technology Exploration Avionics Team at Lockheed Martin Space, our team is passionate about developing test systems that ensure mission success for spacecraft. We tackle the toughest challenges in the industry every day and deliver innovative electronic solutions in a collaborative engineering environment. As a Level 5 Electronics Engineer, you will lead integration, test, and validation activities across multiple major projects or programs, solving problems of unusual complexity and developing innovative system-level test solutions. You will serve as a technical expert and consultant, providing leadership across teams and influencing integration and test strategies, system verification approaches, and long-range test capabilities. This role encompasses EPS, CDHU and specialty vehicle systems.
Responsibilities
Lead system integration, validation, and verification activities across multiple test sets, including acceptance testing and system checkouts. Develop test plans, procedures, and strategies for subsystem and system-level testing. Lead execution of major test events and integration activities, coordinating across teams and organizations. Technical leadership of all junior engineers on your team including daily tasking, mentoring, troubleshooting support and oversight of all technical architecture decisions Document test setups, procedures, results, discrepancies, and test reports. Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations for unusually complex electrical, electronic, and system-level issues. Manage revision control, configuration management, and release of test documentation, drawings, and procedures. Navigate and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Coordinate with engineers, technicians, fabrication shops, and other organizations to support integration and testing activities. Support and lead test readiness reviews, test configuration reviews, and post-test reviews. Serve as a technical expert and consultant for integration and test activities, providing guidance across programs and organizations. Support program planning, scheduling, cost estimates, and technical risk identification. Maintain and improve lab infrastructure, test equipment, and test processes. Represent the organization on integration and test efforts for major program milestones. Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Physics) or equivalent experience/combined education. 8+ years of professional experience in systems integration, testing, or electronics. Experience developing and executing test procedures and supporting system integration and test activities. Experience troubleshooting complex electrical and integrated hardware/software systems.
