Overview
We’re looking for a Software Engineering student ready to bring their skills and ideas into the real world and gain hands-on experience building meaningful, industry-scale products. Our 12-week full-time Summer Internship gives you the opportunity to work alongside experienced software engineers on a live project, solving real-world technical problems and building innovative software solutions that can have meaningful customer impact. At Clipchamp , you’ll join a global, cross-disciplinary team building video experiences that empower anyone to tell stories worth sharing. As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers and designers to design, develop and test video experiences that are part of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You’ll work on challenging engineering problems at the intersection of web technology, AI and creative storytelling , gaining hands-on experience with real-world systems, production infrastructure and modern software engineering practices. You’ll learn and adopt new technologies, tools, methods and processes, while gaining exposure to the latest developments in AI-powered software development and next-generation video experiences. Throughout the internship, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned at university, strengthen your engineering and problem-solving skills, and learn how software is designed, built, tested and shipped at scale, all while making a meaningful contribution from day one. About the Program: This program is open to university students who will graduate between August 2027 and July 2028 and can commit to a 12-week full-time internship between late November 2026 and February 2027 . This is an in-person internship based in one of our main Australian offices: Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne . You’ll work alongside the team in the office and be part of the day-to-day Clipchamp experience. Please note: remote internship arrangements are not available for this role. Responsibilities
Apply engineering principles to solve complex problems through sound and creative engineering. Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a feature. Quickly learns new engineering methods and incorporates them into work processes. Seek feedback and apply internal or industry practices to improve technical solutions. Demonstrate skill in time management and completing software projects in a cooperative team environment. Review current developments and proactively seek new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Must have at least 1 semester/term remaining following the completion of the internship. One year of programming experience in an object-oriented language (preferably TypeScript). Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with (or interest in) GitHub Copilot (or similar tools) and ability to leverage these for productivity gains. An interest in online video and contributing to the technical problems we’re solving. An active
