About this role
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all . Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. The Test Solutions Engineering Key Equipment Group develops, deploys, and supports wafer probe equipment and processes that enable high-volume semiconductor manufacturing across Micron's global operations. The team drives innovation, quality, efficiency, and standardization through advanced equipment solutions, process development, and collaboration with manufacturing, test, and quality organizations worldwide. As an Intern Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers to develop and evaluate innovative wafer probe equipment and process solutions. Through hands-on projects, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, you will gain practical experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment characterization, process validation, and technical problem-solving while preparing for future engineering roles in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with the development, characterization, validation, and deployment of wafer probe equipment, hardware, software, and process improvements. Design and execute experiments using statistical methods and Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques to evaluate equipment and process performance. Analyze manufacturing and equipment performance data, identify trends, and recommend solutions to improve quality, reliability, and efficiency. Create and deliver technical reports, presentations, and documentation that communicate project findings and recommendations. Leverage AI-enabled tools and automation solutions to improve engineering productivity, technical problem-solving, data analysis, and workflow efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Demonstrated understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering fundamentals. Experience with statistics, data analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE) through coursework, projects, or research. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical documentation. Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using 3D CAD software through academic, research, or project-based work. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional team environments. Strong critical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience applying AI-enabled tools, Artificial Intelligence technologies, or automation solutions to support engineering analysis, process improvement, or productivity enhancement. This is a 3-month internship designed to provide hands-on experience in wafer probe equipment and process engineering while developing the technical and professional skills needed for future engineering opportunities within Micron.
