Facility & Maintenance Technician Job Description Job Summary The Facility & Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility systems, production support equipment, and building infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the site and helps maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on facility systems, equipment, and building infrastructure. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. Maintain and repair facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, lighting, compressed air, and electrical systems. Respond to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner. Inspect equipment and facilities to identify wear, damage, or potential failures. Complete work orders and document maintenance activities accurately in the maintenance management system. Assist with installation, setup, and relocation of equipment and facility assets. Support contractors and outside vendors performing maintenance or repair work onsite. Maintain tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies in an organized manner. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, Arc Flash and use of personal protective equipment. Help ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and improve reliability. Support general facility upkeep, housekeeping, and emergency repair needs as required.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred. 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facility environment. Vast knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems. Knowledge of PLC operations and troubleshooting Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and facility-related issues. Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and work order systems. Ability to read basic technical manuals, drawings, and schematics. Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical diploma or certification in industrial maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or a related field. Experience w/ operation & troubleshooting robotic systems Advanced PLC knowledge & experience programming ladder logic Experience working with CMMS systems. Knowledge of welding, fabrication, or carpentry. Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Understanding of safety and environmental compliance requirements.
